HOME INFORMATION PACKS, often referred to as HIPS, have been suspended from 21st May 2010 as a legal requirement for the marketing of residential properties for sale.  The Energy Performance Certificate, the EPC however, will remain as a legal requirement for the marketing process to begin. Contact us using the contact form or telephone us on 07885 607080 to arrange an EPC for your home immediately. We can usually undertake an EPC survey same day and send the certificate to your selling agents immediately.

CARBON ROAD MILES OFFSET THROUGH GREEN CAR INSURANCE COMPANY

As Energy Assessors of all types of buildings across Wales & the West, our energy survyors essentially need motor car transport for carrying personnel, tools & instruments, and ladders. A typical route can be Cardiff city centre, Penarth, Barry, and Pontypridd in a single day managing 5 or 6 surveys and covering some 40 miles locally. Regretably it cannot be done using cycles, walking or using public transport. We are conscious of what we are trying to achieve through our daily energy assessment work.

One small step in managing unavoidable CO2 emissions, Cardiff Energy Ltd Director Victor Watson on renewing his motor insurance policy this used a "green" motor insurance company. The annual estimated CO2 emmission of the car this year for business use was calculated at 2.5 tonnes. This is now offset through the green insurance company scheme of motor insurer IBUYECO. This is achieved by a payment subsidy added to the insurance premium and verified through independant means of offsetting 2.5 tonnes of CO2 to achieve 100% carbon neutrality of motor car usage whilst using a motor car on energy assessment work.

It is a scheme which all our Assessors will follow as motor car insurance is renewed during the year.

HOW MUCH POWER IS USED ON A GOOGLE SEARCH?         6 Feb 2009

what is the environmental cost of a GOOGLE search?  the equivelent energy of two boiling kettles???

see the Times link and watch the video.  This is not to say an internet search is bad, but everything we do as mankind generates CO2 -even just breathing - and we should now be conscious of the detrimental effect of CO2 on the environment and how it affects climate change, and think about how we offset CO2 by being more energy aware. It will also save homes and business costs.
